Early life & education

Sylivia is the second of eight children to mother Mary, her father sadly died when Sylivia was young. She grew up in Bukoditita village, Bunaporo parish, Bukigai a sub county Bududa. Her family earned a living by growing crops such as bananas, beans and sugarcanes.

Sylivia was enrolled with the Shelo Foundation in 2011 when she was 6 years old. She attended Bunaporo primary school where from a young age her best subject was English. She finished school where she passed in division two, and got primary Living Examination certificate.

She was always noted as an exceptionally kind student helping others when they struggle.

Sylivia’s professional education with Path To Prosper

Sylivia was chosen to join the education at BLC in 2022 intake study tailoring. She had a strong work ethic and within her first few weeks had already made herself a skirt.

Sylivia was very active, social and caring student at school. She was able to help other students who were struggling with practical work.

She has since graduated and now has her own sewing machine and shop.
